Photos on Fabric for Quilts, a teaching DVD
This DVD demonstrates easy, clear, inexpensive ways to print your own inkjet pictures on cloth. It shows how to test whether your inkjet printer uses pigment or dye-based inks, and what that means -- when the fabric needs to be treated before printing, and when you don't need to. The DVD also covers putting inkjet images onto large pieces of fabric or clothing by printing your picture on a piece of plastic and transferring the wet ink. It comes with a booklet of resources, a bibliography, and updated printer information.
This DVD goes into greater detail than my other DVD (Image Transfer on Fabric) about how to treat fabric for printing with dye-based inks, kinds of pre-treated commericial fabrics, how to print from a computer program, and how to copy directly onto fabric with a all-in-one inkjet copier/printer.

This DVD is an overview of image transfer techniques for fabric. It covers methods to transfer commercial photocopies (with heat, adhesives, and solvents), and also covers inkjet methods for home computer printers. It has clear directions, hands-on demonstrations, and a variety of finished examples of work. The inkjet methods include transferring wet inkjet prints from plastic to large pieces of cloth or onto clothing.
The difference between "Image Transfer on Fabric" and the DVD for quilts is that this one covers a wider variety of techniques that could be useful to fiber artists who do experimental work with photo images, as well as to fiber artists who do more traditional quilting.
